[Genetic polymorphisms: how to interpret studies?].

Abstract

During the last years, publications upon potential association between genetic polymorphisms and clinical outcomes have exponentially increased. Conflicting results between similar studies have contributed to seriously distrust the validity of this approach. This review emphasizes on intrinsic properties of SNP and methodological prerequisites for such studies.
